Local Produce
The Wairarapa has a wonderful selection of local produce and the best place to find them is at the Wairarapa Farmers’ Market, every Saturday morning in Masterton. Shop for vegetables, herbs, cheese, artisan products, bread, olive oil, organic meat, fish and more. A local supplier sells fresh in fish in Martinborough square every Sunday morning (weather allowing).
Martinborough Wines
Martinborough is the only Wine Village in the Southern hemisphere offering you a unique opportunity to walk or cycle between wineries. There are over a dozen cellar doors within 5kms of Martinborough Village Camping, and we have bikes available for hire, so no-one has to drive. Pinot Noir is the district’s flagship wine but you’ll also find Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Riesling and Cabernet Sauvignon to taste.
Cooking Classes
Take a Carême cooking class where you will create good food and then enjoy it. Based at Palliser Estate winery in Martinborough the day is designed around creating fresh and tasty food matched with outstanding Palliser wines.
