About Us
People have been camping here since the 1930s, long before Martinborough became a Pinot Noir hotspot. It was in 2004 that we saw the potential to upgrade the council motor camp to a holiday park that would cater for the growing numbers of visitors to Martinborough and the Wairarapa region.
We leased the camp in July 2005 and set about implementing our vision of a small, friendly holiday park with quality facilities. The location is perfect with an easy walk to Martinborough Square and a number of wineries.
Martinborough Village Camping opened for business in November 2005 and in July 2008 the holiday park was awarded a Qualmark 4 star rating. We were awarded a Qualmark 4 star plus rating in October 2010. In September 2009 we achieved a Qualmark enviro-silver accreditation recognising our commitment to Responsible Tourism.
Martinborough Village Camping now has a self contained unit, six standard cabins, and 36 tent and campervan sites.
We have lived on site since May 2008 with Woody, our SPCA Fox Terrier cross. To Woody’s lasting disgust, Campground Cat adopted us in November 2008.
We are committed to the ongoing improvement of our holiday park and are keen to hear your ideas, follow us on Facebook and let us know what you think, you can also share your experiences and photos from your stays with us.
